About the owner and occupational therapist
Angela has known occupational therapy was the perfect career for her since she learned about OT in 10th grade. Professionally, she’s worked mostly in pediatrics, including early intervention and outpatient pediatrics, supporting children and families in their homes, schools, daycares, communities, and clinics. Angela has experience working with children of all ages and with a variety of diagnoses, including fine motor delay, autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, cerebral palsy, trauma, and more. Over the past 16 years, Angela has grown passionate about serving neurodivergent children and their families. Through her work, she aims to collaboratively support, educate, and advocate for and with neurodivergent children, families, and the healthcare providers who serve them. She uses that passion to drive her capstone project, working toward her post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree through Boston University.
Angela is also a neurodivergent mom of at least two neurodivergent children. The jury is still out on her 3rd and youngest child. When Angela is not working, you will most likely find her volunteering with Girl Scouts, their homeschool co-op (Yep-she really loves the kids), and finding an excuse to get into nature.
The Nature of Neurodiversity, PLLC was started out of:
Feelings of defeat because autistic children continue to be referred to services the autistic community has deemed traumatic.
A desire to change the healthcare system, because the healthcare statistics for autistic adults are dismal.
A desire to unapologetically provide neurodiversity affirming care.
